Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder
COPD is an umbrella term used to described a group of lung conditions such as chronic bronchitis or emphysema. It is a progressive lung disease that is characterized by chronic inflammation of the airways in which airflow is obstructed in and out of the lungs. The primary cause of COPD is smoking.
