Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder

COPD is an umbrella term used to described a group of lung conditions such as chronic bronchitis or emphysema.  It is a progressive lung disease that is characterized by chronic inflammation of the airways in which airflow is obstructed in and out of the lungs.  The primary cause of COPD is smoking.  (COPD Canada, n.d.)

COPD Canada is a Canadian non-profit patient advocacy association.  It is dedicated to providing educational materials to Canadians affected by COPD.  This website offers reviewed scientific research in an effort to provide up to date information along with treatment options and information.
