ADHD 101

Understanding ADHD

Explore ADHD through an empowered and evidence-based lens.  This workshop combines education, reflection, and practical tools to help participants understand how ADHD affects executive function skills.

This workshop is designed to be interactive, and all participants are encouraged to participate to the level with which they feel comfortable.

WHO THIS IS FOR:

This workshop is for professionals, leaders, educators, and teams who want to better understand ADHD in themselves and others.

It is ideal for workplaces and communities aiming to build awareness, empathy and practical strategies that support focus, productivity and wellbeing.

WHY IT MATTERS:

ADHD is one of the most common — and often misunderstood — neurodevelopmental conditions, affecting millions of Canadians across all ages and professions. When left unrecognized, ADHD can contribute to chronic stress, burnout, anxiety, and decreased self-esteem. Yet with greater understanding and the right strategies, individuals with ADHD can thrive — harnessing their creativity, energy, and problem-solving strengths.

By promoting ADHD awareness and executive function skills in the workplace, organizations can foster inclusion, improve collaboration, and create environments where all employees have the tools to succeed.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

You will be introduced to the science of ADHD, and we will unpack common myths and misconceptions.  We will explore real-world strategies for focus, planning, and emotional regulation as we reflect on personal and workplace supports that help ADHD minds to flourish.  This is an accessible, inclusive introduction to ADHD for individuals and organizations alike.

WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Evidence-based education on how ADHD affects attention, emotion, and executive functioning.

  • Interactive activities using visual and reflective tools to explore individual ADHD experiences.

  • Myth-busting quiz that challenges common misconceptions and builds understanding.

  • Simple, realistic strategies for planning, organization, and time management.

  • Practical tools for improving focus, managing emotions, and setting achievable goals.

  • Group reflection on strengths, creativity, and the “superpowers” of the ADHD brain.

  • Supportive, stigma-free environment encouraging open conversation and shared learning.

  • Resource handout with trusted links, readings, and professional supports for ongoing growth.

IDEAL FOR:
  • Professionals and leaders seeking to enhance focus, time management, and wellbeing in the workplace.

  • Adults living with ADHD who want to replace frustration with clarity and effective strategies.

  • Educators, HR professionals, and team leads aiming to create more inclusive, neurodiverse environments.

  • Wellness practitioners and mental health professionals interested in ADHD-informed approaches to wellbeing and coaching.
